I’m overwhelmed with sadness as we say goodbye to you;
The years spent watching you grow, now seem far too few.

For 17 years I watched, as you taught me how to love;
It’s as if I have been given a gift from Heaven up above.

I watched you sneak up on my pillow with the break of each new day;
Or safely snuggled in his arms, your favorite place to lay.

I watched you run down the stairs any time you heard him whistle;
Yet when Ro got in your face you were sure to bristle.

I watched you greet him daily, showing unconditional love and care;
Showering him with affection, a promise that you’d always be there.

I watched you comfort him in times of stress, sadness, and great pain;
Your mere presence could bring a smile to his face and lesson any strain.

Now sweet girl it’s our turn, we will take it from here;
We will love your daddy, so you don’t have to fear.

You have been the perfect teacher, modeling what we need to do;
live each day, showing love, my greatest lesson learned from you!
