Our Story...

Welcome to Hope That Soars, where together, with my husband Ryan, we navigate the messiness of life by pointing people to the HOPE found in a relationship with Jesus.
Our journey is filled with heartache and the daily struggle of chronic illness, scripted by a loving Creator.
It is through Him we find LOVE, JOY, and STRENGTH to press forward.

I pray you will join us as we share life lessons gained through mishap, adventures, and everything in between. Perhaps somewhere along the way, you too will find, a HOPE that SOARS!

TikTok Made Me…

TikTok Made Me…

“In the name of Jesus, I am healed!”

I declared it!

Fervently.

That’s what the man on the screen said to do.

So, naturally I repeated the phrase and genuinely believed, today would be my day.

I went so far as to act on those beliefs - filling my body, mind, and soul with only good things.

For hours, I pushed forth in my healing.

Here’s where my declaration began wavering…

The simple task of wiping counters and showering caused my heart-rate to spike, vision to blur, whilst the tremors and unconsciousness ensued.

Feelings one may experience after distance running.

In the heat of summer, while battling the flu.

For me, this is “normal.”

Now, I could choose to blame God, by saying.

“I believed just as the man indicated… I declared my healing, therefore, it must come to pass.”

However, as I gleaned from Job’s journey during my Bible study: Job 1:21, Job 38-42,

To question my reality against God’s sovereignty, is nonsense.

God isn’t good because He chooses to provide a way out of this current predicament.

No, God, creator of all, is simply good.

Period.

Whether my healing happens this side of eternity or when I am called home,

God is still good.

So, my fervent declaration for healing needs to be altered.

“God, I welcome your hand of healing in my life, but “even if,” you choose otherwise -

YOU are GOOD!”

Perhaps there is a danger in prompting people to utter such declarations.

Please don’t hear me say, “stop praying for healing or whatever it is your situation requires.”

That is not at all what I’m hoping to convey.

I fear, the danger occurs, when our circumstances remain bleak after the proclamation has been stated.

Rather than finding hope, peace, and rest in God’s goodness in the midst of our reality;

prayers answered contrary to our preference, have the potential to drive people away from Christ, completely.

Although my pleas for healing, will most assuredly continue;

until that day comes, I rest in the knowledge that God is good and

His strength is made perfect in weakness.

“My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.

(2 Corinthians 12:9, AMP)

Therefore, I will continue to point people toward God’s goodness, in the midst of life’s challenges.

How has God demonstrated His goodness in the midst of your circumstances? Let’s encourage one another today, as we seek to live a lifestyle of worship.
