Our Story...

Welcome to Hope That Soars, where together, with my husband Ryan, we navigate the messiness of life by pointing people to the HOPE found in a relationship with Jesus.
Our journey is filled with heartache and the daily struggle of chronic illness, scripted by a loving Creator.
It is through Him we find LOVE, JOY, and STRENGTH to press forward.

I pray you will join us as we share life lessons gained through mishap, adventures, and everything in between. Perhaps somewhere along the way, you too will find, a HOPE that SOARS!

“Knowledge is Power…”

“Knowledge is Power…”

I have a passion for research. My wiring is such that when given data, I can tune out the world on my quest to obtain better understanding of a specific topic.

What if perhaps, the situations I encounter don’t make sense? How do I account for information with which there is not a way to research a logical outcome?

Throughout my four decades, I’ve navigated a few of these scenarios:

  • “You don’t need a piece of paper to sing, I think it’s time you quit the program.”

  • “You haven’t done anything wrong, but I’m demoting you… Oh, and I’ll need you to train your replacement.”

  • “You will never carry a child.”

  • “There is no cure.”

Information received, knowledge attained.

Now what?

Just having head knowledge, in and of itself, did little to bring me “power.” In many instances it didn’t alter my understanding of the situation.

My womb remains empty, I don’t fill concert halls for millions, nor have I met a physician who is any closer to finding a cure for my illness.

I am certain there are others like me, who have bought into the lie that “knowledge is power.”

But what if that knowledge is something you don’t want to hear or are incapable of receiving?

I had to face the harsh reality that knowledge doesn’t equal control.

I spent far too long believing that I could somehow direct or manipulate the outcome of my situations by merely having more information.

Nothing could be farther from the truth…

Ultimately, our Savior, Jesus Christ, is the only one who has complete control! He holds all of my days in His hands; from the moment my bleary-eyed, pain-filled body makes its attempt to rise in the early hours, to the collapse each evening, snuggled in close to my love...

I strive each day to view information through a new set of “research” guidelines. Each piece, sifted through the lens of scripture and the Lord’s omnipotence.

And each day that the sun sets and HE has remained on the throne of my heart; then the “power” is exactly where it is supposed to be!

“For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understandingHe stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity…”Proverbs 2:6-7

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…”

Genesis 50:20

“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”
