Fear, anticipation, pride, worry, joy, excitement and so on can be read on nearly every parent’s page on my social media feed.
Coupled with the emotions of the students and teachers, I wonder if perhaps the common denominator at every life stage and experience is HOPE.
Until that very moment, my ability to empathize with others through similar trauma was non-existent.
I was quick to defend, bow poised, ready with “Christianize” to distract from the gut wrenching turmoil people were facing.

The lyric from the song, God Likes People, one I learned as a young girl, echoed on repeat in my mind, as we tread the rugged path.

Infertility, and miscarriage is an experience filled with longing, hope, and heartbreak with a little bitterness, anger, and shame thrown in the mix.
I am captivated by fire.
The spark, flame, and warmth have always filled me with joy.
The flickering of a fireplace, as I snuggle in to read on a rainy day - pure perfection.
